Tuition Fees and Scholarships

Tuition Fees

According to the Finnish Parliament decision, Finnish universities will introduce tuition fees in 2017 for non-EU/EEA students. At the University of Vaasa tuition fees will vary from 10,000 to 12,000 euros per academic year, and will be billed to degree students in international Master’s degree programmes. The fees only apply to new students who start their studies in Master's degree programmes in August 2017 or after that.

Tuition fees per academic year are:

Master's Degree Programme in International Business 12 000 €
Master's Degree Programme in Finance 12 000 €
Master's Programme in Strategic Business Development 12 000 €
Master's Programme in Wireless Industrial Automation 12 000 €
Master's Programme in Industrial Systems Analytics 12 000 €
Master's Programme in Industrial Management 10 000 €


You will not need to pay tuition fee if you:

  • are EU/EEA citizen or their family member
  • are equivalent to EU/EEA citizen (i.e. citizen of Switzerland)
  • are residing in Finland on a permanent basis
  • have an EU Blue Card

The fees are not applicable to exchange or doctoral students.

Scholarships

The University of Vaasa offers a generous scholarship programme for students who are subject to the tuition fees.

First Year Scholarship - University of Vaasa Global Student Scholarship

Each Master’s programme will provide one 100% tuition fee waiver to the best ranked tuition fee subjected student based on the previous academic merits reviewed during application process.

Each Master’s programme will provide two 50% tuition fee waiver to the second and third best ranked tuition fee subjected students based on the previous academic merits reviewed during application process.

Each Master’s programme will provide four 25 % tuition fee waiver to the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh best ranked tuition fee subjected students based on the previous academic merits reviewed during application process.

The scholarships are personal and linked to the acceptance of the offered study place and do not transfer to other universities nor to other students. Students will be informed of the possible scholarship together with the acceptance result and do not have to specifically apply for the scholarship.


Second Year Scholarship - University of Vaasa Global Student Award for Academic Excellence

Each Master’s programme will provide one 100% tuition fee vaiwer to the best ranked tuition fee subjected student based on the academic merits during the first year of studies at the University of Vaasa, grade point average and number of credits.

Every student completing the expected and required number of credits during the first year gets automatically a 50% tuition fee waiver.

Details for the second year scholarships will be communicated to the students during their first year.
