The most beautiful campus in Finland

On the coast near the city centre

Our university is located in Palosaari, right next to the city centre. Our campus is also home to several other institutes of higher education. The Palosaari campus employs a total of 900 people, and there are 10,000 students.

All of our university's buildings are located on the same campus, and the distances between buildings are short. The campus has numerous meeting places and modern working facilities for researchers, personnel and students.

A unique sea view

You will work on a beautiful campus on the coast, right next to the city centre. The grounds of the campus area contain a historic red-brick cotton factory and light, airy new buildings, with windows looking out over a beautiful marine landscape.

The University's main building, known as Tervahovi, stretches from the Wolffintie road to the shoreline and has a distinctive marble gate. The building contains the largest lecture theatres and modernised teaching premises, as well as other facilities. The history of the campus area is embodied by the former cotton factory, known as Fabriikki, and the Technobothnia research and teaching laboratory for technology.

An inspiring environment

The campus area's numerous lunch restaurants and Cafe Oskar offer comfortable settings to take a break from work, catch up with friends and colleagues or hold meetings. Weather permitting, you can also pack your laptop and head down to one of the piers or parks by the sea.

Other interesting places on the campus include the Tritonia science library and the Vaasa Energy Business Innovation Centre (VEBIC) – the University of Vaasa's energy laboratory, which brings together expertise from the worlds of research and business.
