Application Process

The application period for studies starting in autumn 2017 has ended on 25th January 2017.

Applications to all international master programmes of the University of Vaasa must be submitted directly to the University. Only applications received through the electronic application system during the application period will be considered.

All of your attachments need to be uploaded or posted to the University of Vaasa by the application deadline. All applicants, both international and Finnish, apply to the programmes through the national Studyinfo electronic application system.

Steps to creating the perfect application

1. Go through our website to read about the available international Master's programmes. Once you have found a programme of your interest, please check the programme specific criteria.

2. Prepare your application enclosures well in advance, preferably one month before the application period ends. Make sure to consult the country-specific requirements that apply to the country where your previous degree has been obtained and which may concern you. Make sure that the copies of your educational documents are certified accordingly.

3. Please do not upload or send any documents before the application period starts. The only exception are language certificates which may be sent directly by the language certificate provider to the University. Otherwise, only those documents that are received by the University during the application period will be considered. Students who have not yet graduated may apply as well and be conditionally accepted.

4. Once the application period begins, you can access Studyinfo and create your application form online.

5. Once you have submitted your online application form, your application is saved and you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that your application will be considered as valid and processed only when you have uploaded your application documents to the website given in the application form.

Make sure you have all the necessary attachments in electornic form (pdf, jpeg, etc.) before uploading the attachemts. If the country-specific criteria require some documents to be sent directly to the University of Vaasa, please ask the institution to send documents to: University of Vaasa, Admissions and Mobility Services ref. Master's application, P.O. Box 700, FI-65101 Vaasa, Finland.

6. Keep frequently reading the e-mail that you have given in your application form, in case there will be any notifications from the University about your application.

7. Once the University's Admissions and Mobility Services have done the verification of the application documents, they will be processed further by the programme representatives. Please stay patient during this time, and wait for the admission results that are given in June the latest.

Note, that any inquiries made to the University about the application(s) may take several days to answer, therefore ensure that your application is complete before you upload the attachments. Read carefully through all the admission criteria and make sure that your educational documents are certified properly and any possible country specific requirements are met.

Remember to upload or send all your application documents directly to the University of Vaasa. University Admissions Finland is not involved in the application process of the University of Vaasa.

Please note that the application documents will not be returned to the applicant.
